A highly skilled workforce in the Region
The Øresund Region is home to a highly skilled workforce. The people in the Region are highly educated, with 29 per cent of the working population having completed a higher education course. There are currently 150,000 students at the 12 universities in the Region, where great emphasis is placed on research, education and training.
Major focus on research and science
Compared to other parts of Northern Europe, the Øresund Region has the largest number of researchers in the public and private sectors. In fact, when it comes to the publication of scientific articles, the Region ranks fifth in Europe.
One head office – multiple languages
More and more companies are choosing to set up their Scandinavian head office or service centre in the Region. This allows them to recruit staff from both Sweden and Denmark, thus ensuring instant access to two Scandinavian languages. As the language skills of the people of Denmark and Sweden are among the best in Europe, it is easy to find multilingual staff in the Region.
