High quality foods

Both Denmark and Sweden are known for producing high quality foods. Excellent ingredients play a part but much is also down to technical developments ensuring that the manufacturing processes in the food industry maintain a very high standard. 

The Region has already attracted international heavyweights
The food industry has a long history in the Øresund Region, with several large companies such as Tetra Pak, Arla Foods, Danisco and
Procordia Food being well-established here. Other leading companies in the sector include Foss (advanced process control and quality assurance) and Chr. Hansen (ingredients, bacterial cultures, rennet, etc.). The growth and the advantages created in the region in this sector have also attracted a number of international giants. Nestlé, Unilever, Master Foods and Campbells all have their Nordic head offices or R&D departments in the Øresund Region.

In total the food industry in the Øresund Region exports to over 150 markets. 45% of Sweden’s total food production is located in the region.
