Official opening of the Øresund portal

The new Øresund portal at www.oresundsregionen.org officially opens today, marking the fulfilment of a long-felt need for a shared Web entrance to the region. The portal has been set up through a wide-ranging collaborative venture involving many of the key players in the Øresund region.

“The portal provides visitors with all kinds of information about the Øresund region and, in particular, displays a host of relevant links. It is therefore primarily intended for people who are not overly familiar with the region, but it will also prove useful for those who wish to use the region to add value to the marketing of their own businesses. These Øresund ambassadors, as we call them, may be private individuals or representatives of a specific company or organisation,” explains Elin Persson, Web Editor at Øresund Network.
 
Øresund Network AB has principal responsibility for the portal. Other organisations that have participated in the work to set up the portal and who will also continue to supply material for the portal include: Copenhagen Capacity, HH-samarbejdet, Position Skåne, Region Skåne, VisitOresund.info, Wonderful Copenhagen, Øresunddirekt, Øresundsbro Konsortiet, Øresund Science Region, the Öresund Committee, Øresundsoverblik and Øresund University.

A ceremony to mark the official opening of the portal will be held at 14.00 on Friday, 23 September, at Minc, Anckargripsgatan 3 in MalmØ, Sweden.

The name of the winner of this year’s Øresund Network photographic competition will be announced in connection with the opening of the portal. The theme for this competition was two-ness and the editing team received around 140 submissions.
